Keyword Research

View Video Transcription

Hi guys, you're turning in to today’s Marketing Minute, my name is Beasely and I’m the Account Specialist at Bake More Pies and today we’re gonna be talking about Google searches and keyword research.

So, a very interesting fact is that more than half of Google searches happen on a mobile device. This means that your website needs to be optimized for mobile and needs to be mobile responsive. A very quick and easy way to test this, is to open your website on a desktop, to squish it vertically and to see if the elements on your site respond. If they do, you know its mobile responsive. If not, you have some work to do.

Another interesting fact is that fifteen percent of searches that Google sees a day are brand new. This means that your keyword research needs to be an ongoing process and you constantly need to be optimizing your process. Don’t ignore things like long-tail keywords. An example of a long-tail keyword is “female kittens for sale in Tampa, Florida”. Something that consumers
will be searching for, needs to be something you’re gonna optimize your pages for.
